Oak View is inspired by a place close to home—a historic mill, surrounded by the quiet presence of oak trees.
For me, it evokes a sense of being grounded, taking time, and having space to pause and reflect. These are qualities I hope to offer within counselling: a calm, non-judgemental space where you can come as you are, explore what matters to you, and move at your own pace. Oak View Therapy is rooted in a person-centred belief that you are the expert in your own experience, and that having the right space and relationship can support meaningful change.
At Oak View Therapy, I will treat what you share with care, respect and confidentiality. Our sessions provide a private space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
I undertake regular professional supervision. Supervision is an important part of safe and ethical practice, and any discussion of our work is handled with appropriate confidentiality and anonymised information.
There are some circumstances where confidentiality may need to be limited. These may include situations where I believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person, or where I am legally required or authorised to share information. Where possible and appropriate, I would discuss this with you before any information is shared.
At the beginning of our work together, we will talk about confidentiality, boundaries of the therapeutic relationship, privacy and the circumstances in which information may need to be disclosed, so that you understand how your information will be handled.
I am committed to working in accordance with the ethical standards of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
